I have a tomcat, about 7 years old and has been getting slower these past few months. Today, he left me "a present" on my bed. He is a totally potty outdoors cat. I thought he just needed to go and my bed was the best place. I cleaned it up and I'll be darned if he didn't do it again, but this time I saw blood off to the side. I will be taking him to the vets but wanted to have some idea what is wrong before we get there. Any ideas?

I'm sorry about your kitty. I'm afraid i don't know what could be wrong. the fact that he is 7 years old might have something to do with it. The best of luck to both of you!

I'm guessing that the "present" was stool? Cats seem to have a way of letting us know when something is wrong. Blood in the stool could be a number of things from parasites to constipation. Let us know what the vet says.

    Hello and welcome!

I'm glad your taking the kitty to the vet. Let us know what they say.

You stated your cat was a "totally potty outdoors cat". Does this mean you do not have a litter box inside? If this is the case I would suggest at least one small litter box inside.

    Keep us posted!
