My two babies are going to be nuetered..

Discussion in 'Dogs - all breeds / types' started by scooternbooboosmommy, Sep 4, 2008.

  1. My babies are going to be nuetered tomarrow morning {Glad to be doing it by the way} But, I am a little worried that they will try to lick and bite at each others incision and bust it open or cause it to be infected. The vet recomended that I put them in pet carriers for the next four days and only let them out to go potty but, they can't stand to be confined and they are so used to sleeping with me and my husband.. (A bed full :0015: hee hee) Plus not to mention my husband just bought a pit bull dog so +1.... But, anyway.. What do you guys recomend??? I hate putting a dreadfull what ever ya call that big plastic thing around there neck but, I want them to heal nicely.. Thanks so much in advance for your answers and by the way... thank god for this site!

I would just watch them for awhile and see how they do. Instead of the "E" collar you could take a towel and fold it up thick and put around their necks. That'll work as an "E" collar and it's soft

I would agree I would just watch them to see if they do. I just adopted a 2 month old kitty and he got neutered on Sunday and he is doing great only licks it occ I just re-direct him.

keeping an eye on them is your best option. They shouldn't bother it too much and just keep an eye out for redness and/or swelling
