:qm1: Mary. It's a fine site. I was so happy to see again that cats hold the longest memory of 16 hours. Cats rule!

Loads of neat facts there Mary, thank!

One pequed my interest the most was this one:

I have had a cat do this when I was a child. We (my family) were moving about 50 miles away from our home and my baby was no where to be found on moving day. Mom and Dad wouldn't hang around waiting for Poopsie so we left with me crying hard in the back seat of the car. I was about 6 or 7 at the time.

Two weeks later...Poopsie shows up in the yard of our new home! We were all stunned, amazed and happy about it.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

my mother moved about 50 miles when she was a girl (her family) and they brought the cat - cat would disappear and an old neighbor would bring the cat back to them. Cat would disappear again - again neighbor would bring the cat back. Finally my grandfather asked the neighbor if he wanted the cat - the cat didn't like their choice of new town to live in I quess so he kept going home.

This is not quite the same but when we were living in Syracuse, NY, a friend of ours has a female calico kitty named Putty acquired out of town. One day another calico kitty with the exact same markings showed up at their door step. Mind you, they live in a apartment. I think they named him Big Boy. I've seen both cats and it's strange that they would find each other. BTW, Putty has been trained. If she wants treats she has to sit on the dinnette chair and put her right paw up in the air. She does it frequently, it's so funny to watch.
