Need advise on gelding a five yr. old stallion

I am looking at a five year old stallion. He is a paint and pinto mix. He is 15.3, massive muscle. Perfect conformation. He has good ground manners. He has breed. I saw him at a novice western pleasure competion and he behaved well except for being very vocal.
My question is will cutting him settle him down or will he still carry that stallion attitude.
I am an intermediate rider, this would be my first owned horse and I do have a trainer. I need opinions on this matter. Wondering if he would be worth the investment to train for western pleasure.
He looks good but looks won't keep me safe.
I need to here from people who have had similar situations and the outcome of it.

i doubt he will carry on with the 'stallion attitude'! which unfortunately means less presence but i dont no if thats wot u want! if u want to geld him y not just get an eye catching gelding so he isnt wasted!

it is very possible that he will still carry that stallion attitude. chances are though, he will just act like a proud cut gelding, except for when all the mares are in heat. get him cut. I'm sure he'll be fine, as long as you have a trainer that knows what he/she are doung then you'll be fine.
