Need opinions ASAP on the photo contest!

Obviously I should have done a poll test before I started the contest. #-o

Since we have discovered that you can only vote once I need some opinions. Should I delete the polls and start over?

Should we continue the polls and allow each member to vote once on each of the 4 pages and then pick the top 10 and have a smaller more organized final photo contest with the top 10 winners?

Should I shorten the length of the poll which is currently 15 days down to 7 days or 10 days?

What are your thoughts? :?

I think we should just keep the contest going and vote once per page. Then shorten the days to 7. Nern~you worked hard to get it going and it would be just more work for you to cancel the existing polls and re-do new ones! :qm2:

 

I think the 10 finalists is a good idea. More organized but everyone still gets a vote in.
I feel SOO bad for screwing it up a little.

Hi Nern. There are lot's of differnt things we can do for the photo contest. Here are a few ideas:

1) We continue the photo contest as it is OR we start over. However, instead of voting in the polls once per day, we can reply to the poll and submit our vote. However, some people may not want others to see who they are voting for. In that case we could try idea #2.

2) We continue the photo contest as it is OR we start over. However, instead of voting in the polls once per day, we PM (private message) Nern and submit our daily vote to her. I believe Nern is an honest person and we can trust her with the votes.

What does everyone think?

p.s. When I say we start over, that doesn't mean that Nern has to change anything in the photo contest. She would leave everything as is, but we just start from scratch as far as voting goes. Meaning the votes that are posted in the polls will not count, but we leave them there, since the pics are all set up. Nern just did so much work and she did such a great job, I just don't want her to do more work then she's already done.

 

p.p.s. If we chose the PM idea, Nern could post how the votes are going once a day or however many times a day she wants. For instance she could make one post, with everyone's name and kitten picture name (no photo) and instead of her having to retype all the names each day, she could just keep editing that one post, by simply changing the vote count next to the person's name.

How about this -
Everyone continues to vote once in each of the contest pages (because the poll will only allow one vote per page per member). After that you can submit your vote right into the photo contest threads daily. If anyone wishes to keep their votes private they can PM their votes to me daily and I will tally them in. One vote per member daily.

We can still do a top 10 photos poll after this if you guys want to. This would be one poll with 10 options where each member can vote once.

I will post new contest rules.
