i have a 110 gallon tank steup with
    2 4inch ocars
    1 2inch albino oscar
    1 4inch reb bellied paco
    1 4inch tinfiol barb
    1 3inch jack demsey
    1 5inch pleco

I was also thinkin about putting an arowana, some more tinfoils and some clown loaches in the tank...would this be a problem??

i am in the process of buying a 1500 gallon tank....and yess i do have the room for it...are you happy chelle

It should be fine adding the Arowana but remember they get DARN HUGE! So be sure to find a home for it once it is bigger.

man, let me just say your tank is WAY overstocked...the pacu alone can get to 3 feet logn and needs a 300 gallon, 3 oscars would need a tank aorund that size alone....the dempsey would need a 55, the pleco is probably fine....the arowana grows HUGE and would also need a nice size tank.

I would think that the Dempsey, Pleco, and the Oscars could live in that tank fine but that would be the limit. Pacu try 250 gallons and arowana at least 120 gallons, POSSIBLY he could be the only fish in your 110 in alternative. Pacu around 20-27 inches needs at least 230 gallons.

I totally agree with grnlemonade, your tank is wwwwwaaayyy overstock! I would suggest giving some away or getting a couple bigger tanks. You would need a 300+ gallon tank.

Definitely overstocked. 110 gallons is only big enough for 2 oscars. You might be able to keep 3, but you're very likely to run into aggression and water quality problems.

As stated before, the pacu will need about 300 gallons bare minimum. However, pacu are social fish and really need to be in groups of at least three. So you're looking at 1000 gallons to properly house them.

The tinfoil barb also needs to be in a group of at least three which would normally be okay in a 110 gallon, but not if you also have the oscars or JD in there.

The JD would be able to stay if you only kept one oscar.

    The pleco is fine.

    So your options are:

    a) return all but 2 oscars and the pleco
    b) return all but 1 oscar, 1 jd, and the pleco
    c) return all but the tinfoil barb and pleco and get 2 more tinfoil barbs. Then we can discuss what other tankmates you could put in there.

But you're definitely going to need to get rid of the pacu and don't get an arrowana or any other fish at this time.

ok. well when are u going to be able to get the 1500g tank? arawanas need 125g each. pacus need 300-400g each. oscars and jacks 55g each. tinfoil barbs are good in schools of 3 or more and get to be 13" or more. so the 110g is fine.

Are you going to be able to get that tank within the next 2 or 3 months?

And I'm curious, what type of filtration do you have planned?
