Hi everyone....I have a question. My mom sent her gardener over to fix up my lawns in the back and front. Actually at the moment I really dont have a lawn in back, it died and its mostly dirt. So he is going to lay down sod I think and clear all the bushes since Syd loves pooping in the bushes and its hard to clean out. Anyways I have to keep my girls off for about 2 weeks...I think he is going to put up a temporary fence or something. However I dont know what to do about my girls, since they will definitly have to go potty for the next two weeks. If he leaves a little section for them I will take them there but how do I get them to all go in the same small area? And if he doesnt leave a small section where do I let them go? I was thinking of a leash but i have 3 of them so thats gonna get to be a chore but i guess if I have no choice I'll have to. Also for all of you that have girl dogs and nice lawns, how do you keep the grass from turning yellow were they pee? I saw those tablets/treats you can give thats suppose to make their pee less acidic but do those really work? Anything I can do so my new lawn wont get ruined? Thanks everyone!

Sounds to me like your going to have to walk them! I know its hard with 3 but perhaps your room mate or a friend could help you? You could always hire a professional dog walker (if theres one in your area).

Winniie, I use those treats and they work but are expensive! especiallyf or 3 dogs, someone has posted using lime on the lawn, but I want to check it out before I try it because of toxity. dont know if it is or not,

you can try this: if you have a small place you can train them to a specific area

    it might work

There are pills you give to your dog to help neutralize it, they have a bottle of 250 for $15. I asked my gardener about the problem too and he bought this powder stuff for the lawn. He said they sell it at Petsmart if I wanted to buy some for myself. I went to the Petsmart website and found this, it comes in a 1lb container and is only $9.99

I figure its worth a try! I'll let you know how it works.

Winnie, this could be a blessing in disguise for you. Especially if the gardener leaves you a small section. This may train them to go in one certain area for good now which means easier cleanups and only one yellow spot on the lawn.

I taught Harley to go in one spot, it only took about 2 days and its so easy to pick up her mess now. I no longer have to roam the yard like a crazy woman with my shovel.

    Good luck!
