Ok guys. SO for the past few days we've had a hound running around our lot. Getting under the houses, tearing out insulation trying to get to a vermint....Well my boss Called Animal Control yesterday, so they brought out a trap. I was out yesterday, had my surgery>
Anyhow. This morning she was in the trap. Sweetest dog you've ever seen. Those droopy eyes just broke my heart.

    Here's her BIO so far:

Shes a full blooded Walker Coon Hound
    Approximately 3-5 yrs old
    A bit skinny, and shy
she had a collar on but no ID tags.

Well Fort Bend COunty, Richmond/Rosenbergs AC policy is that if its a stray with no tags or any form of ID they euthanize. That day. IF they have a collar on, they wait for 3 days.
So the lady comes to get the dog. She's the rudest person I've EVER met. I told her Good morning and asked her what the plans for the dog were. She turned her back and walked off then litterally yells at me (mind I say I was about 1-0 feet away at the time) "IF YOU DONT' WANT TO GET BIT GET BACK!!!" I was like WHoa...wait a minute. So I told her I wanted the dog, and very politely told her I've never met a so called rescuer so rude. She ignored me, and just litterally dragged the poor dog to her truck. So I followed her, getting very fumed at this point, but maintaining my composure. I told her again. I want the dog. I know your policies, I run a private rescue, ect...

She screamed at me!!! Can you believe it! Told me "CALL THE SHELTER IN THREE DAYS!!!" and leaves. So I in tears and hurting at this point, went inside, and called the shelter.

Her supervisor and head honcho readily appologized to me and said it was not the first time she's had a complaint or warned, so she was going to be harshly repremended or even terminated. Then they told me ok. (since I've bailed a few out already before they euthanized) that They were taking her to the vet, to get rabies and vaccinations, and I could come a pick her up Wendsday.

So. I've got a new Walker Coon Hound named "Flow"!!!

I'll be posting photos and more info on adoption soon!!!

A hound named Flow! Or Flo? Sounds cute! I see a lot of people in that line of work who have NO business doing it at all. Compassion should be a prerequisite for care of children, animals and the elderly. Now if we could just find a blood test that would detect it. :?

Maybe she reminded you of a waitress???? (Get it? Flo the Waitress?) Oh wait, your probably too young to get that reference! Sorry! :?

lol...apparently..never heard of Flow the waitress. I think the movie Isn't it the FOx and the HOUND, wasn't the older hound dog named Flo or something?? I think thats why I got that name in my head.

I will transfer a healthy dog, Aslong as the adopter is aware of the hazards of it, willing to meet with me Via phone, video, email....and give refrences and photos of their place. And pay for the flight.
I prefer physical meetings. But IF all my (very extensive) research on the person is right, I'll consider it.

    Sam,
My brother raised and hunted coon hounds when I was growing up. He had a Blue Tick and a Redbone. Those dogs were kept extremely lean so the dog that showed up might have been in hunting shape and not really mal-nourished. Coon hounds can cover really great distances so I would advise that you not get too attached as somebody might be out looking for her.
Post photo's when you can. That is a great looking breed.
One final note. That Blue Tick used to scare the entire meighborhood by baying at the moon. He would start out real soft then slowly get louder and louder until he reached a full howl. I think my brother had to move him out to live with some hunting friends in the country after a week in the city. :D

yeah we know! But for the past few days, well more like a week. WE took photo's and put up signs. WE couldn't ever catch her though. She's very shy.

What I don't get is why is a hound dog like her out in the middle of a city????
She has a collar on, but no tags, tatoo's or microchip. The shelter checked. No dogs have been reported missing or stolen that fit her discription in Fort Bend county, Colorado County, Harris, or Austin Counties.....

My thought is that some one got her, then got annoyed with her baying. She does that alot!!

She ahs a great set of lungs on her!! Waooooooooo Waooooooooo...
