New Subdermal Rabies Shot

Milo went to the vet on Wed. screaming and yelling all the way to the vet for his annual check-up and vaccination. He was shot with a subdermal rabies vaccine. It looks like he got stapled with a stapler gun from the sound of it. The poping sound scared him and made him jump a little, poor kid. His vet said this new method is wonderful as the old way of injection had a tendency to give kitties tumors or lesions at the injection site. Has any of your kitties ever had the subdermal rabies shot done and how did they react to it?

I've never heard of that type of shot. I guess if this new method catches on my kitties will get that kind of shot some day.

Milo is back to his normal self. Thurs. morning he had a slight fever but he got over it. Must be the shots and the stress. 2 dogs also harrassed him at the vets office. It's a good thing he was in a pet carrier. He was terrified nevertheless. Thank you for asking Sunset!
