Nitrite spoiling nitrate tests..

    I seem to recall somewhere that if you have any Nitrite in your tank that the Nitrate test will also reflect the nitrite in the tank.. is this true? because I notice that I have .3 ppm of nitrite again... and I Have 20 ppm of nitrate... do I really ahve 20 of nitrate or is that including hte nitrite??
