    Are you assuming he is declawed because he didn't climb the tree? Or did I miss something?

    I remember when I got my cats declawed 15 years ago (I would never do it now - I didn't know better then), the vet said she declawed her cats and they could still climb trees.

    But you aren't supposed to let a declawed kitty outside. And you aren't supposed to declaw them, either!
