number of fish in large tank

    how many larger cichlids (Ex. jack dempsey, green terror Ect) could i fit in a 207 gallon tank (83X24X24)???

    still depends on the cichlid b/c some larger cichlids get around 12" and others 18"+. also, their aggressions vary.........post a list of them ones you are thinking about, we can help there.

    My own general rule for stocking large cichlids is at least:

    20 gallons for small cichlids (around 6" - cons, firemouths, etc)
    30 - 40 gallons for medium sized cichlids (around 8" - JD's, acaras, severums, etc)
    50 - 75 large cichlids (12" - 14" - oscars, GT's, RD's, etc)
    75 - 100 gallons for really large cichlids (14" - 18" - Jags, etc)
