Ok. I remember a while back the recipe for the food balls. helps put on weight and stuff. Boe decided he wasn't goin to eat a whole lot while Precious was in heat. This resulted in weight loss of course. Well, he's still "being a man" and very attentive to her. He's kenneled separately and I've had to stoop to feeding him canned food to get him to eat.
I don't like giving him that. He has the nastiest poo resulting from it.

I know the recipe had hamberger meat, rice, wheat germ... I just don't know what I did with it...

I used it once before and it worked great.
    Any help is appreciated!

Oh and its been 7 days today since we first mated the two. Precious is being her lovely self, but has gotten a lot more "affectionate". I'm assuming its just a phase. I highly doubt her hormone level could result in a change this early if she was preggo.

    But we're hoping!!!

Satin Balls: Homemade dog treat recipes like this is one can really help in putting weight on an animal quickly, as some use it for putting a couple extra pounds on a show animal prior to the big day, or an animal that may have been ill and needs a weight gain program. It has also been reported that these homemade dog treat recipes will help with some forms of hair loss, such as when your dog(s) blow their coat, to keep the coat healthy and shiny. This recipe is intended to be fed raw.

    10# hamburger meat
    1 jar wheat germ
    1 large box of oatmeal
    (uncooked)
    1 1/4 Cup vegetable oil
    10 eggs
10 small package of flavorless gelatin
    1 1/4 Cup flavorless molasses
    A pinch of salt
1 large box Total cereal (2 lb)

(You may also add a pinch of garlic powder to add flavor)

Mix all ingredients together well, much like a meat-loaf, then put into separate freezer bags and freeze, thawing out as needed. It puts weight on in a very short time, not to mention the gloss in their coat. You can use it every day when they have a show to do and it does not produce diarrhea. It can be fed alone or with kibble.

    Thats it!!!

Thank you sooo much. I'm not planning on feeding alot to him, Just mix a bit to entice him to eat. I hate feeding the pre canned dog foods. And he HATES the loaf rolls. I bought one at Pets Mart, because I used them for trining for a bit... but, he wants nothing of it. I figured i'd try this with him since it worked so well on my other picky eaters, and on some of our rescues.

I need to put a little weight on him, but not much. He looks good, but I'm more into toning and building up muscle, slowly.
Definatly don't want alot of adipose tissue. Thats just not healthy, nore does it look good. LOL.
