Odor on Carpet and Stain- How do I remove them???

We have tried carpet cleaner and the smell is still unbearable throughout the house. I saturated the area, blotted it, and the stain went away but the smell did not. The pet odor remover I use it all natural and supposed to get rid of odor.

Has anyone tried anything that gets rid of the odor but won't ruin your carpet? I tried scrubbing it after I blotted, I tried saturating it and letting it dry only to vaccum and find it didn't work. I tried soaking the carpet in water and then vaccuming when it dried. That didn't work.

I hear vinegar and baking soda works but that it ruins the carpet pads...

    Any advice???

Everyone else here will tell you to make sure and use an enzyme based odor neutalizer like Nature's Miracle. You have to get it all the way to the padding too. One poster (props again to Delauk) suggests using a large syringe and injecting the NM into the pad.

I however will recommend ripping up the carpet lol. Nothing worked for me. I surrendered and now have laminate and I love it! Also, if you used a heated carpet cleaner, you set the urine in. I found out too late (after I bought my Bissel Proheat carpet cleaner) that heat will set in the urine.

BUT--I saw something on-line called "Planet Urine" that I was gonna try before I gave up. You could google that and read on it?? Good luck!

First is it cat or dog urine? Yes use an enzymatic cleaner. Natures Miracle and Petastic are supposedly the same company, they both come in cat and regular. Use a black light to find the stains, make sure you saturate them completely..DO NOT BLOT IT UP. I know the bottle says to...but don't. Leave it with a fan on it and let it dry naturally. It may take a long while. You may have to do it more than once if the stains are bad ones. In this case it may be a good idea to pull the carpet back and make sure you are saturating the underlayment and the pad as well.
There are other products as well..one called Odormute and one called Absolutely Natural.

In addition, white vinegar may also help the smells if it's not too ingrained into the carpet. As another poster said, saturate it and leave it! :)

It's a dog fece stain, not urine. I wish it were only Urine. My dog got a virus and so it smells extra bad. It's getting better but the carpet is still wet from yesterday! I got some OxyClean Carpet spray and that helped. I will have to do it again I think to get it gone completely. Vinegar worked on the porch, so many I will do that. I did blot it though so maybe I will try letting it dry completely and then just vaccuming it up.

I should go buy those products! Thanks for all of your suggestions! Anymore are still appreciated. For now, I will keep trying!

Oh. You didn't say it was feces. Good luck anyway.
