Ok, I have been trying to find somewhere online that posts up to date presidential election stuff, but all I can find are articles and opinions on the outcome, If someone knows a site where I can look it up, please tell me! Thanks, I can't find anything I can understand on my tv either (I knew I should have studied my German better!) Thanks!

I wouldn't use CNN. They are VERY much on Kerry side, so the truth will not come out.
On the outcome though. Your not going to find out anything on its progress until later this evening...

yea, thanks, when I way at cnn before it would say, last year this is how this state voted. the state always votes democrat/republic.. the state has so many electoral votes. I give up on trying to find out something! It is alreayd late over here and I had to send in my vote weeks ago, I guess whatever happens happens. Thank you though!!!

Stupid electoral college system. Why can't they just count up all the votes and whoever has the most wins? That would make WAY too much sense.

Honestly, I wouldn't rely on the public vote. Too many people are voting with out any knowledge....People honestly can't be reliable enough to do their research, and honestly vote for the right candiadte. Then you have the problems like the last election. Multiple votes, dead people voting, and alias's voting.

If the incumbant wins, I guarentee you Kerry will fight it and bi**h piss and moan about it for the next 6 months. Now if The advesary wins (kerry) He'll step aside without a fight.

I won't get into all my Political views, but honestly, I wouldn't rely on a public vote to be the decicive matter. I feel safe knowing that the electoral college is out there to decipher the votes.

But that's not how it works. Say 51% of the people in Kansas want Bush and the other 49% want Kerry. ALL the electoral votes for Kansas would then go to Bush. It's not an accurate representation of what the people want. That's how a president can win an election without winning the majority of votes, like Bush did in the last election.

At least the two states who can split their electoral votes have the right idea, although they have never done it before.

Jimiya, I do think there are 2 states that do this

I feel the same way, I live in Calif where we have 55 electoral votes. Ithink the biggest so like you say if bush gets 52% and kerry gets 48% all goes to bush, its not fair, it should be bush gets 52% of the 55 electoral college and kerry gets 48% of it. I think this way way would be much more soun and fair. cant belive its going to be states that have only 5 electoral vots decide the president and the swing states which they are interveiwing vots who arent going to decide until they get into the booth. that is scary they are going to decide whot eh pres is going ot be

There are two states (Nebraska and Maine) who CAN split their votes, and Colorado is voting on whether or not to do this as well. But up until now, no state has split their votes even if they are allowed to.

LOL and look at me my sp is so bad, my poor fingers typing too fast.

Jimiya, interesting Neb and Maine can but havnt, who decides this??

so much more the reason to have every state voting the same way, I think when its a pre election all states need to follow the same voting rules

Poll results or even estimates or speculations cannot be discussed until the polls close at 8pm Pacific time. Last election, numerous stations flashed it all over the news who had won, and as a result many people on the west coast ended up not even going to vote because they thought it was over.

Interestingly, international committees of the UN are observing this election. They are all questioning our democracy because of the electoral college! We observe the elections of other countries, and now they might come back and tell us that we are the ones that are not a legit democracy. It is going to look especially bad if the same thing happens that did in 2000, where popular vote didn't even decide the presidency.

I personally hate the electoral college. If you don't believe that the people of this country should be allowed to vote for their president then you are obviously not for democracy. Everyone of legal age and citizenship has the right to vote, regardless of whether or not you think they're smart enough to make that decision, they have just as much of a say as anyone else. This assumption is also geared at young people far too often. This is my first year voting and I have been more politically active than either of my parents. The outcome is going to affect me just as much as them. I don't think anyones opinions should be discredited or ignored because of something like age, backround or education.
