my cats were holding their official weekly mouse hunting night - or is that let's drive meowmy insane night? I'll have to think about that for awhile :0013:

1st mouse story - approx. 8pm last night Zeus was crashing into things in the basement signifying he had caught a mouse. Upon my attempt to catch the Killer Zeus he lost his grip on the little rodent, who then dived for cover under the bulkhead door. I then proceeded to shut the basement door in the hopes that said rodent would move outside.

2nd mouse story - approx. 11pm last night while I lay in bed doing be best to sleep knowing damned well Zeus and Tilly were on mouse patrol as they hadn't come to bed yet....I heard crashing noises coming from the vicinity of our entry room. Upon hearing the commotion I flew out of bed and headed in the general direction of the noises. I encountered Zeus, Tilly and my dear sweet Missy going in for the kill amongst the various pairs of footwear lining the wall. I went in for the save just as said rodent jumped into one of my shoes (mice in these hea parts are getting smarta). I picked up the shoe and took it outside where I uncermoniously flipped it over. When mouse emerged from said shoe I believe he either saluted me in honor of my saving him; or he flipped me off for dropping him on his backside.

3rd mouse story - approx 2am I was awoken to the sounds of a mouse attack, yet again, in our entry room. I flew out of bed (oh read above on this part...kinda redundant). I flipped on the light and saw poor little mouse hovering on the verge of insanity (pretty much my state of mind at this point). I chased Zeus chasing this poor doomed mouse when suddenly it (I say it - they all look alike to me so I call them it) quickly ran under my dog's armpit :y_the_best: . The mouse then turned around and peered out from the hairs of Sadie's armpit (lovely visual huh). Sadie, being the sweet old girl she is, didn't move. I was able to advance toward this little mouse and pluck it from underneath Sadie's armpit and carrying the little quivering creature outside - where it joined it's probably family member.

I believe the mice in my neighborhood are evolving.

P.S. for you that don't know me...I'm not usually this formal/snotty in my writing - did it for effect

Lol's Mary. I hope you catch up on some z's. I don't think I'd have the guts to touch the mouse. You are one tough and persistent cookie. This is definitely more preferable than cleaning up the crime scene after your furbabies get done with the mouse. I believe mice are very inteligent. A mouse who was caught by Milo one day held a real grudge when he was allowed to escape after Milo was distracted and brought home. The mouse turned around and swore at me before running away.

lol Mary i had mice in my garage and my cats wouldnt do a thing about it  My rottie used to chase them tho i would go in the garage and my washer and dryer would be moved from her crashing into them chasing mice lol My daughter and I were in the garage takeing all the christmas stuff out of cardboard boxes and putthing them in plastic boxes i had 3 cats at the time oscar, whiskers and sassy (RIP) and my rottie all were in the garage with us my daughter opened a box and a mouse poped out she screamed and ran in the house so fast when i turned to see what happened she was in the door and the cats were right behind her lol Nala of course tried to catch them lol.

then i moved and for some reason oscar used to bring me presants and leave them on my back pourch (rats, mice, lizards, snakes) what ever he could get but he would not touch the mice in the garage lol
