Ok yall... There has been some thinking that Dopper Butch, Precious' father and Kabuki's grand father is up for placement.... I'm seriously thinking about it!! I mean this is my dream dog... Oh my god!!! here's his link...

    http://www.arcadyanboerboels.com/Butch.html

    Thoughts?

Also... Precious is coming up on her 2 yr mark. I'll be scheduling next month for her hipp, elbow, ear and eye tests. I have a few sire's in mind and can't wait to breed her! Her heat cycle has been a bit odd. Thinking that its probably because of the climate changes.

Mike- She came into heat and had a full normal heat cycle in September, Last month she swelled, and quit... I'm thinking its because the climate is soo much diffrent in Wyoming than it is down here...We had a cold snap for a few days, it went from 95-55 for about 2 days, then back up in the high 80's... do you think that could have influenced it??

Also Kabuki came in her first heat cycle. She swelled, bled the whole nine yards, but only lasted about 6 days.... Hasn't done anything since... she's gonna be 7 months this month.... thoughts??

I have never heard of the weather influencing a heat cycle as they will come into heat when there body wants to.
I have however heard of some bitches that come into heat have the normal cycle yet come back in again a few weeks after the cycle ended the reason for this is unknown.

With my girls when one came into heat they all came in usually within 2weeks of each other. So i would not worry to much, Just keep an eye on her next cycle if this happens again there is a chance that there is a problem..

As for Kabuki, This is normal in some dogs having there 1st cycle they can go from bleeding to nothing within days but carry on with the cycle which as you will know is called a silent heat.
Its not uncommon for some bitches during there first cycles to come in and out a couple of times before there 1st birthday.

Again just keep an eye on her, As i say you know your pets and tere behaviour. Any sudden change in that behaviour warrants a vet check.

Your a great person who knows alot so i would not worry too much.
I would however every couple of days gently wipe there vulva with some tissue paper or soft white cloth to see if there is still a slight discharge and this will also indicate you to any foul smelling dark coloured discharge.

Also Dopper Butch is lovely i could not resist if i was you.

As for Butch, why not? you can hadnel 3 BIG Dogs. How old is he now?

What does that mean he is up for placement? Just curious because he is what at least 6 years old, why would someone give him up?

If he is being retired from siring why wouldnt the owner want to keep him. just curious

Honeybears ~ alot of retired breeding dogs are placed in new "family" homes. Most of the time they are neutered and placed in a diffrent home to make room for more younger show and breeding dogs. Rayna is a wonderful woman. Prolly the best person i know that knows the breed and the business.

Butch is a moody dog. He's 8 years old and not a top producer anymore. he's had some semen producing problems. She wants him to go to a home where she is still co-owner and has some breedign rights to him. Hes getting depressed being there and she just doesn't have the time to cuddle with him as much as she'd like too. She sgot 18 pups on the ground and several new show dogs. She also breeds border collies and I think she has a few wolf/hybrids and a wolfdog.

Id love to take him. But Granvel and i both had a long disgussion about it. Precious had a little bit of a hard time acclimating to this new climate when i brought her home. if you remember I posted aobut her having trouble with the heat. She's not quite 2 and I'm scared that Butch would have a much harder time with his advanced age, arthritis and he's got some pressure sores. I also don't have the facilities to keep such a large dog. He's a monster and has serious dog agression just like Precious. Thats where she got it from I'm assuming. But most of these dogs do.
So keeping him safe and my girls safe is always an issue. Also theres the inbreeding factor. Though I think a father/daughter offsping of this line would be awsome, there are worries, and the Dopper Buks bloodline has some faults that show up when inbred to close. SO keeping father, daughter and grand daughter apart all the time would be just too much.

Thank you Mike. I guess I just need a little more reasurance. You know me, I'm a stickler for details details and more details and everything has to be up to par!! LOL...
