Thought I'd give a little warning to those a bit sensitive or may gag over certain malady descriptions..LOL.....

Today on one of the outdoor "porch strays" (she's probably about 4 or 5 in age) I noticed right above the anal area a small reddish pinkish bump, like an irritation or cyst, about the size of a pea, but not round like a pea. I only notice because I try to brush the cat daily and clean its ears a little and I sometimes look at the rear to make sure no worms or no blockages or excess dirt is on there. usually there is not. I am concerned this might be some sort of tumor growth but it could just as well be just an irritation, boil or cyst, relatively harmess in other words. Having just spent 500.00 on 2 of the indoors this month and 100 on an outdoor I am not too keen on spending more. Maybe I could get the SPCA clinic to check on it if I can get an appt.

Any suggestions/ideas or anyone else with similar experience???

    Thanks!

Maybe the anal glands just need to be expressed? May have gotten blocked/infected like an anal abscess. Or else maybe polyps or rectal prolapse? thats all i can think of for what you described. :0011:

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it, so to speak. I put some neosporin on it with a q-tip in case that might help. She didnt like that at all, was very fussy and acted like it hurt. I hope she's not too uncomfortable for the time being. Because of the fact she's still a little on the wild side and a bit skiddish around me it's hard to get her to trust me to come near her, without her hissing or wanting to possibly take a swipe at me, except when it's feeding time of course. :?
