    :( Ive lost count of how many dogs and cats Ive worked with, sedated or in some cases had to put completely under anaesthesia to get cacti needles out of them, obviously they are difficult to handle as anywhere you touch them they react, some yelping or screaming (not all though), it can take a couple of hours, they usually do okay with antibiotics, sometimes pain killers and lots of TLC.

    I don't know. I've seen that photo before and looks real to me. I know like humans, once pain is felt endorphines take over so its possible it just kept after it...

    But wher ever and whatever, theres a naked porkupine somwhere!!!

    PS. I believe the photo is real. I have heard similar stories of dogs and porcuines on the Catahoula board. I also got a dose of what some catahoula people think of the porcupine...around their places the porcupine better stear clear!
