I moved three weeks ago and my 9-year-old male outside/inside cat must now be a completely indoor cat (apartment rules). I purchased a harnass but am not having much success using it yet. He sits by the door longing to go out. Any ideas on what I can do to help him adjust to this change?

im not sure if this true or not but i saw it on animal planet...they said try to get some window beds so they can see the outside even tho they can't go out side....it might help a little bit...i know saw some at Mr.z's but i live in Pa...but im sure they would have them at a pet store..=) just a suggestion

I had to do the same thing to a cat once, and unfortunately for me it was an unneutered male! LOL :) Maybe you could try making him feel a little bit more at "home" inside? Some cat safe plants and some pet grass maybe? I know cats like to lurk outside, maybe if he had some plants he could lurk around he would feel better. :)

If you don't already have one, a cat condo is a great way to keep your kitty occupied. The bigger the better

i woulddn't open the windows to far. if hes anything ilke my kitties he'll try to escape through the window, and mine have always been inside. its funny when they escape outside (through the doors) because they only get to the garoge then get scared and come back.
