Cat has physically gone downhill drastically. Cat is skelatal with bulgy tummy. Vet can't seem to find what is wrong. Cat eats well. You can see every bone in the cat's skelatal system. What can be causing this. the cat is about 9 years old. I just want him to get well. Please, if you know anything please reply to this post. Thanks.

The only advice I can give you would be to take the cat to another vet for another opinion.

    Keep us posted.

I agree, definitely take him to another vet. Do some research and find a really experienced one in your area (ask the receptionist how long the vet has been practicing) and get his/her opinion. Something is definitely wrong, and if your current vet can't help you, then it's time to seek another opinion or two.

Good luck, I am so sorry to hear that your kitty is going through this.

Worms and parasites will cause a distended belly. They will literally suck a cat dry. this also has signs of FIP. Please have your cat checked as soon as possible. Many of these things can be corrected if caught in time.

FIP is really hard to diagnose - the vet should also do a x-rays to see if the distended area is fluids.
Good luck and don't put off getting this kitty a 2nd opinion

Hi. I'm sorry your kitty is not well. I agree with the others, please get a second opinion from another vet. If one vet is of no help, seek out another. Good luck and keep us posted.
