:?: I recently bought a 2"in. rb pacu from the fish store. i was wondering how long until it will out grow my 10. gal? and if it will survive if a put it in my pond in the backyard? Also will they kill other gold fish or koi?

I'd give it no more than a month in the 10 gallon. RB pacus get well over 24" long and almost as tall and need around 400 gallons just for one fish. Plus they grow incredibly quickly. Pacus are also tropical fish so if your pond gets much colder than 65* the pacu will probably end up dying. Unless you have a really HUGE pond with a heater (or you live in Florida or southern California) I suggest you return the pacu now.

You're gonna need a giant pond. Like Chelle said, about 400 gallons to keep him happy as an adult.

As long as the temp doesn't drop below 65* in the winter and it's a really big pond.
