I never thought I would ever have a problem with 7 month Smokey, always a sweet little kitten , and still is , but-- here goes. I have 2 other cats, Boo, 14 yrs. old, and Tigger is 2 yrs. old(he is the only one who goes out side).Boo is the only one who is declawed. Smokey has always loved Tigger and loved to "play fight" with him. Rolling on the ground and rassling with each other, used to be cute, but over the last month, I think there is more going on here. Used to be, I was worried that Tigger might be getting a little rough with Smokey, but not anymore. Now, not only is Smokey getting rough with Tigger, but he is now going after Boo, trying that playfighting with her sometimes he is biting them both. Poor old Boo! I went to the vet today to get them their Revolution flea and tick vials, and had a meeting with one of the technicians about this, and she told me to try behavioral modification by separating them at this point, and see how it goes. If necessary, she said there is medication that might help this. She also felt this could be due to spring fever with different smells on Tigger when he comes into the house. One more thing. Smokey also climbs up our backs or legs which can be quite painful. He just comes up from behind, and does this. I know all he wants is to be held, but this is unacceptable! We also are adopting Smokey's half brother(same mother, different father). He looks just like smokey only black and white. His half brother is 6 wks. old and I know they will have to be separated for a good while, and introduced very slowly with total supervision. I have had other cats, and have never come across any thing like this before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I almost forgot. All of the cats have been neutered as soon as they were able to be. Thanks.

Do you clip Smokey's nails on a regular basis? It would help a bit. I think Smokey is definitely jealous of Tigger going outdoors and is taking it out on poor Boo and attacking Tigger whenever he gets a chance. You are describing the exact same characteristics of Rene except she doesn't climb on us. Pooky (RIP) used to do that and ouch it hurt! Our Milo is the only allowed outdoors. Whenever he comes home, Rene would smell him and pounce on him or anyone else in her way like poor Monty Boy and the chase is on to prevent her from hurting her siblings. We yell at her and it always helps. We also distract her by playing with her favorite toys like the fishing pole toys. Smokey might want to be the alpha cat now that he's older. He's trying to exert his dominance. If nothing works, you may want to try Feliway or comfort zone plug-ins to calm your cats. my Tilly used to beat on Zeus really bad when he was a kitten. So bad Zeus would pee himself and once Tilly bit him and the wound abcessed.
So I put a collar with a bell on Tilly so Zeus would at least know she was stalking him. It did help. Tilly began to see the collar as punishment and whenever I put it on her she settled right now.
    No problems at all anymore

Rene got in trouble yesterday for stalking Monty Boy so I tried to use the collar with a bell on her. It lasted 1 min. as she managed to take off her collar. Thanks for the tip Mary. It worked! Rene became very mellow after the collar incident.
