I have two cats one male (Max) and one female (Tibby) that are from the same litter and are now almost 11 months old, we rescued them in November and were saving to get Max neutered. I thought we had kept the two separated enough not to mate but I was wrong. On December 20 Tibby gave birth. Since the birth Max and Tibby were fine, very loving and both helped take care of the kittens. On January 7 Max was neutered but since Tibby was nursing I didn't get her spayed. They still were very loving and no behavior changes occurred. Tibby has started weaning the babies and I have found homes for them and they will be leaving in a few days. All of the sudden on Tuesday (Feb 2) Tibby and Max started fighting horribly...hissing and growling running all over the bathroom and every room close to them, fur flies all over and it really scares me when I see them fight. I separated them but all either one of them do is meow and it's driving us crazy. On two occasions one of them has lost their stool after or during the fight. I don't know what to do, I love them both very much but we (including the cats) cannot live like this. Please help!!! What could be wrong with my babies?

Hello and welcome to Auspet. I think the first thing you should do is get Tibby spayed and then see how things go from there. There are many places that will spay/neuter for free or very cheap. I think we have a sticky post on this topic. If there are still issues, a lot of us here have tons of great tips for you. So glad you were able to find the kittens homes. :D

ditto what Chess says....she might be going in heat again and her hormones are raging.
Keep them separated until you can get her spayed.

I agree with the posts suggesting spaying. You can also try a feliway diffuser that will calm them down.

    Welcome to the boards.....
Sorry to hear about your two causing the fur to fly.
I would definitely get her spayed and that very well could be the issue, she may be going into heat and she doesn't want him anywhere near her. I have used the feliway and for me and my hyper kitty it did not work... I think that it is very individual, works for some and not for others. Worth a shot however. My Harley had to be put on prescription calming meds for about 3/4 months.
Keep them apart until you can get her spayed, but allow them to be able to smell and see each-other to keep a bond.
Hang in there. And keep us posted
