My daughter Susan has a 6yr old cat named Cloe.Susan and Cloe moved to Georgia this past year from Illinois when Sue's job transfered her to Georgia. They stayed with my other daughter, Jen, her hubby, their 3 young children, and their 3 cats. Cloe was used to being an only cat, in an apartment with Sue. Definately not used to other animals or children(This was a temporary arangement until Sue found a townhome to move into with cloe.). While at Jen's house, they used Cloe's auto litter box with the special litter. Sue has to travel on occasion with her job. So when she travels, she leaves Cloe at her sisters house. While at Jen's house, Cloe has started to poop outside of the litter box. Now, when Sue brought her home, she poops away from her litter box, in the dining room. Sue says she doesn't think she is peeing in it either. She wonders if she may be doing it in the shower drain? This all started after Sue moved to Georgia. Cloe never did it before. Sue said she used the litterbox for about a week after she got her back from her sister's, but soon after is when she started doing it on the floor. Could this be stress from all of the moving around, and being around the kids and other cats? How can Sue retrain her? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Nano.

I've been told Cat ATtract litter works really well.

It could be the stress of moving around. But if she used the box ok for the first week home and then suddenly not, I would be concerned about a possible health issue.

Hi. Perhaps she could get two more litter boxes and place them in other quiet areas. Try the brand of litter that Mary_NH suggested. If she's still doing this after things have calmed down a vet visit might be a good idea. Let us know how things are going.
