pom in heat, bladder infection and urinating everywhere

I have just acquired this pomperanian, she is five years old, i got her in heat. I took her to the vet because she had a bladder infection. They told me she was house broken, however she is peeing randomly in the house. Can this be because she has the infection or because she is iheat that she is not going outside to go pee??? please help or I have to get rid of her.

I would say that it has to do with her having the bladder infection. What did the vet say about it? Also, are you going to have her spayed once she has finished her heat?

Hi, Because she is in heat she will urinate more and some girls have a laps in there house training She should go back to her old self once the heat has ended.

Her bladder infection will also have a huge part because the infection will irritate her bladder causing her to urinate more often so she will need to be let out more to relieve herself, again once the infection has gone which usually only takes 24-48hours after start of treatment she will go back to normal.

Ditto to what Mike said, just wanted to add that sometimes a change in enviroment can have an effect of where the dog is peeing, I dont think this is the case here, the bladder infection iteslf will cause this but its something to be aware of. Make sure you clean up the areas she has gone in with something like Natures Miracle, it eliminates the scent rather than covering it up.

 

You would get rid of a dog because she is peeing? Sheesh.

It's a new place. You did take her out frequently and praise her for going, right? Otherwise the dog has NO IDEA which door she is supposed to go out or how to ask you to let her out. There is typically an adjustment period in any new home. Take her out AT LEAST every hour or more often if she needs it. Go out with her and praise her when she goes potty outside. Every time. When you can't watch her or you're not home, confine her somewhere - a crate if she is crate trained, or a small room like a bathroom where if she pees it's not a big deal.

Also, the bladder infection makes her have to pee all the time, and she probably has less control. You will need to take her out even more frequently until that is cleared up, but it should only take a couple days on the antibiotics.
