I was wondering if there is a limit to how many plants to have in a tank.. is the only issue them having enough root space and light distrabution to each plant.. or can they affect the water quality? I would imagine the water would only get better with more plants as long as they are not dieing and growing good,,,

i would say there is no real over stocking of plants, because some aquariums are very densly planted. With a huge amount of plants, it may reduce the swimming space for your fish, but plants remove phosphates which helps keep your aquarium tip top condition.

You will need strong lighting and maybe a CO2 system to help the plants flurish, if their is a lack of root space it will show in the thriving of other plants.

    Hope this helps

that one's probably got a co2 system on it. you can make those at home to save on the $ but i'm not sure how difficult it is.
