Raynas been an active member in the dog world and a HUGE assett in the training world. She's had a wolfdog by her side for 14 years and he's become ill. Your thoughts and prayers would definately be appreciated.

Um not sure 100%, she took him in couple days ago and had bloodwork done, it was normal. but he's not eating.

She was here yesterday and flew back this morning and took him in as soon as she got home again. I think they found a mass in his abdomen.

So heartbreaking. That dog helped raise and socialize some great dogs. I know he's definately one of my favorites. Even tho we've got the love/hate relationship going on.

some pics i have of him when he was at my house. Yeah i dressed him up and giggled cuz he looked like old man!

Its amazing how even after Vader, Faith, precious, and Teigan had been away from him for so long, when he'd visit, they remembered him as if they'd never left her house...

I've learned soo much from that dog. Its amazing. he's not mine, and i've only known him for couple years, but wow.. i've never met a dog that commanded respect and just had an aura of authority around him no matter what dog or where he went. He is absolutely amazing to say the least.

Now I'm all sorts of weepy... I think anyone who wasn't Rayna had a love/hate relationship with him. I remember when we took the trip to Amarillo to do a trade...can't remember for who???? I do remember that's when I made Andy agree to bring Precious home instead of letting someone else take her... I also remember though that he slept behind MY seat at the truck stop we stopped at for a few hours on the trip and even then when I went back to the truck to retrieve my phone to call Andy about Precious he was all sorts of mad at me for it...as if I were a stranger practically... He knew I was not and I told him this is MINE when I grabbed my purse...but if I'd tried to take anything else I think I would have lost my hand...LOL... That was after staying at our house at least three times by then and then that long road trip...

He definately commands respect... Keep me updated...

What a soulful looking old man. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this time. There is nothing harder than losing an old friend :(

Yeah, That BLEEP i to call him (can't say in here). I'd walk into m y own house and he'd bark at me. Then look at me and brush up against me like, "if you don't pet me now i'll bite you!!!"
I got him this treat ball he had to push around to get treats, left it at my house for when he visited and he LOVED that thing, but didn't want me to take it to put treats in it. LOL

I think he enjoys walking up behind me and letting out that wolf bark to scare the geebis outta me!!! Silly ol guy. He's definately one of a kind and I'll tell you this, al lthe dogs that he's helped raised have turne dout sooo awesome!!!

Wish he'd hang on to help with my human baby. He'd be awsome to teach a kid how to be around dogs. He'd be firm but not agressive ya know?? I swear, he's not a dog, H'es a person in spirit inside the dog body.

Shes got Sabre now, hope he turns out everything like Claun.

Hey Sam... If you're ever in the mood to have a Claun type doggy take a look into the CO's... Datvi is like him... Basically she too has a love/hate relationship with pretty much everyone who knows her...or meets her. It was funny when I had my sister staying here... We had very different schedules but she was really good with the dogs... Didn't let Datvi push her around... BUT every now and then she would exlaime to me that Datvi had taken another year off of her life by giving her premature heart palpatations due to one of those freaky barks. The funniest part though is the only way you can tell that Datvi really loves you is that when she barks at you as you come in the house (the scary wild bark) she sees that it's you and begins to blubber apologies in that squeeky tone...

My husband's friend Blake has become Datvi's doormat... they met on okay terms but a day or so later I was at work and Andy was here with Blake...Datvi in the house had no idea who was outside with Andy... well Blake comes in to get one of his paintings he'd left in the house and Datvi had him smooshed up against the door yelling for Andy... Datvi didn't touch Blake but she made sure he was aware in no uncertain terms that if he moved one muscle...she'd meet him with force... NOW Blake has turned to the good old fashioned cheese to woo her... Unfortunately he doesn't realize that it's all superficial to her...the brat that she is just soaks it all up too.

Tell Rayna I'm thinkin' of her and Claundyke... No matter what's happened in the past and whatnot...it's never easy to lose one of your very best.

    I will tell her.

I don't need any more dogs right now. I'm at my limit and boiling over. I love them, god help me I love them more than anything, and i'm sure its just the pregnancy and hormones, but I'm just tired. I do same thing every day, nothings wavered, but what I wouldn't give for one day to just relax and not have to do it all by myself.

Theres so much i want to do with them and due to some aggriating circumstances I can't. I think that more than anything has me burnt out.

I hear ya sam. But you're doing a ton with the dogs already too. Don't sell yourself short there by any means. We've had our disagreements but there's a reason I sent those dogs with you... We all have those days where we're feeling pretty burnt out and ready to spread the doggy wealth and I'm sure hormones are at work too. But truly you're doing one hell of a job with the dogs as it is so even if you WANT to do more just know you're doing a whole heck of a lot more than most people out there. ':y_the_best:'

    Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Its got to be the hormones. I've never been so tired in my life. I think these last two months are gonna kill me!!!

Rayna might move back down here and I can't wait. Doing everything I can to help her and I know once she gets here, shes gonna blossom with her training buisness. The woman is a genious!
That and I can't wait for the help! LOL

Precious is a good mommy and its a dang good thing. Other than bottle feeding one of the lil ones all i have to do is clean up and put down new blankies twice a day. I love holding them and cuddling. But if i had to do it again, I wouldn't have bred her while pregnant myself. LOL Its alot of work.

Really wish people could learn exactly what its like and then, maybe they wouldn't produce puppies out there and dumpt them in shelters. Ya know??

yeah I hear ya. I have to wonder though that even if you could wave a magic wand if people would still be dumb... I've learned a lot with the Danes I've gotten that people really do know what they're getting into but they THINK they can deal with the big dogs but never fails too many times than not that people realize too late that they eat a lot and that size really is a big deal...as far as day to day living goes.

SADDEST things with the danes though, when people finally decide they can't handle them it's usually AFTER they've quit feeding them for awhile and with Great Danes they're notoriously difficult to put weight on and keep it on...so skinny Danes come around with no training or social skills, it's almost guaranteed to be nearly impossible to re-home in any reasonable ammount of time.

Yeah Sam...is Rayna back in CO? I know she's always liked TX so I can't imagine she wouldn't move back. I've heard pregnancy takes it right out of ya...LOL...and those last few months/weeks are a BEAR!!!

BUT it'll all be worth it 100 times over I'm sure. What's she going to do first, ride a horse in a show or be a junior dog handler? oh yah and have you settled on a name?

She's already been on horses. LOL not born yet but we ride. Poor kid gonna be tough thats for sure! hope she don't grow up thinkin she's a dog or a farm animal!
