preparing drift wood

    can i just put in my drift wood or do i have to wash it? if i should wash it how would i do that?

    You should boil it for a few hours first to get all the nasties off of it and to take the tannins out of the wood.

    soak it in hot hot water for awhile or you can leave the wood in cold water for a couple of weeks, i think its just easier doing the hot water.

    boil it then put it in the oven for a little bit to cook it then boil it again and let it soak

    I did that to my drift wood but i kept making my PH go up i ened up takin it out...i boiled it for 6 hours

    i havnt heard of baking it?! anyways i think it does damage to your ph like Mwm said.
