question about labs tails

we went camping last week-end and at the lake there was a "white" lab that looked kind of weird, at first I thought it was nose which wasa little long and pointed but then it clicked - it was the tail. it hung down like it had been broken and looked abnormally long, so I thought hmmm I wonder if the tail had been broken at one point, and then I saw another with the same tail. they had to have been related, so the tail had to be a nomral tail, bu tit looked so strange,

anyone every see one like that? I wish I had my camera to post a pic

thats wierd, are you sure they were a pure bred lab?

Ive seen some dogs that have tails broken close to the end of the spine that are completely limp, no nerve function at all, they can appear longer, sometimes they will even drag along the ground, most people have them amputated though as they are prone to further accidents etc. Ive also had a German Shepherd that had a kink in the end of his tail, his mom stepped on him accidentally and broke it when he was a week or 2 old...his tail looked like a little question mark, and Ive had a couple of cats with broken tails, they hang in odd positions.

Seems strange that there would be 2 dogs though with the same thing, do you know if they were the same owner?....Then again who knows, with the way some dogs are bred nothing would surprize me.

the dogs were in the same group of people, so at first glance if they were laying down you would think they were pure bred, but I think they were mixed because of the wierd tails. they kind of had a hump on the tail right at their rear and then they drooped.

it was definately mostly lab, but looking at the pic Mike posted, the tail hung like that, but it was about six inches longer than that, almost to the floor.

Whippets and Greyhounds have very long, skinny tails. They usually hang in an "S" shape. Was the tail skinny?
