Question on Email notification for a posting response?

Even though I click the box that says "Notify me when a reply is posted" I rarely receive an email notice. I am puzzled because I do sometimes receive an email but not very often. If I never received a notification then I would suspect the firewall security system is blocking the emails but every now and then one must get through.
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I once tried to change my profile email address and ended up loosing everything for over a week before I was restored to being able to post or respond to a post. Not trying that again.
I found it very helpful to receive those notices so I could keep up with the thread discussions.
My question is, does anyone else have this problem?

That is weird, I have been experiencing the same thing. I kept thinking, oh I guess no one wanted to respond to the post anymore. But it has been happening to me too. I haven't changed any settings or anything though.
