ok im 15 and i just bought myself 2 beautiful parakeets. i got them from a flea market and well i dont know much about them.they are very quiet.. is this normal? and they really havent eaten anything since i brought them home last night. my other question is that i have a very cool window in my room that is about 3 feet deep and i put the cage up there so they are alwqays near me, and it has great sun, do they like that? is not direct sunlight.. i dont know what to think or do.. please reply! :D

Congrats on your new birds. My budgie Kiwi is a flea market bird too.

If you just brought them home they're probably still adjusting to their new environment. The thing I would worry about with putting them near a window is drafts.

Hi congratulations on the new birds.

For the first few weeks the birds will be very quiet you may find that after a couple of days they will be fine and become lively.

Windows are not the best place for birds incase of draughts as a chill can kill birds instantly so it would be best to move them away from the window.

Make sure they have plenty of cuttlefish bone and mineral block in there cage and water should be changed twice a day.

If you have anymore questions please don't be scared to ask everyone is really friendly here..
