Questions on Shepard mix puppy....

    Hello,

We just adopted a Shepard mix puppy two weeks ago. I have had several dogs in my life (Golden Retriever was my favorite so far) but never a Shepard mix. I think Duncan is Shepard/Lab mix. He has a shape like a lab and webbed feet.

Anyway, what should we expect from him? Size? He is 4 months and a little over 20lbs. He is very smart, which I know will lead to boredom when left alone.

So, anyone with shepard mix experience please advise.

    Thanks,
    Nathanial4

From his Picture he looks like he has some brindle in his coat? If so then I would not say he was a shepard/lab cross. Shepard yes thats for sure but what else he is crossed with Im not sure.

I have a Shepherd Lab mix now. 12 weeks old and he looks like a full blooded Shepherd, no Lab in there to the eye. My vet and a few breeders have told me that this is one of the best mixes for a dog. They get the brains and personality! Sarge is very very smart and super loving. But, I agree with Gina H. I see the Shepherd, but I think the brindle coat indicates something else in the mix. So, that would be part of the determination on size, disposition, etc.
