Just thought I would let you know that today when I took Prissy in to the vet for her final shots and deworming, I asked a vet and a tec if they had ever heard of the furminator, and if so, would they reccomend it? The two I spoke to had never heard of it, but another vet there had bought one, and really was not very impressed with it. So, I guess I will go look for a zoom groom and a good stiff wire brush and a comb. I'm glad that I asked you all and the vet, I just saved $25.00! [/code]

I have a less expensive version and really, I'm not all that impressed either. I think our little wire brushes work just as well, if not better because they get out more hair at once.

That is interesting to hear what the Vet thought.

You'll have to let us know how you like the zoom groom. I don't have one of those.

I did buy the zoom groom, and I really love it! Smokey and Riley love it, too.It really gets so much fur off of them. It's kind of funny, when I get one cat done, the other one is waiting his turn. They roll over and want their bellies done, too. It wasn't very expensive either. I think it was $8.00. I also got a rake to help loosen up the undercoat, and between the two things, I think I spent around $14.00. I have 4 long haired cats, and it works great on all of them.

My kitties won't let me touch their tummys. LOL

Thanks for letting us know how it worked for you. I'll have to look for the zoom groom the next time I'm at the pet store.

Any good brush or rake should do the job. Milo prefers the Zoom Groom over the Furminator. The other 3 love being groomed by the Furminator. Each cat is different.
