Ropefish Compatibilities

My father is now thinking of buying the fish in about two days, but he wants to make a community tank with my ropefish in it. Is that possible? I am afriad that the ropefish may eat the other fish even though I have never seen my ropefish eating or harassing any other fish, however, he has been much more active and not shy any more. What are compatibilities with him and is it possible to setup a community tank with a ropefish in it?

How big is your Ropefish? Mine is in a 20 gallon community with my 3 Beunos Aires Tetras, Gold Ram Cichlid, and 2 Black Skirt Tetras. No harm done to any of the fish even though I do feed him tiny feeder guppies.

    Hi Y'all,

I have a ropefish, about 13ins long too. He lives with my 8ins Pleco and my 6ins Oscar, and a pictus cat....about 4ins.
Because of his size he seems to get along fine with the other fish. However I have heard that ropefish can be rather aggressive and even kill fish of a smaller size, (neons, danios and other ickle fish)

He enjoys a diet of bloodworm and is very happy :D
