Hello, nice to meet everyone, I'm very new to having a puppy, the only dog I had was 6yrs old when we adopted him (Buddy a Ausie/German, and just about the best dog in the world), and very sad to say he's passed on now.
Now we have palm/min pin 10wk old puppy named Koda.
We were doing very well on potty training outside for the last 2 weeks until....he and the neighbors dogs (2 very nice but very large and loud pit's) were outside at the same time. Well as you can imagine it didn't matter to Koda that there is a fence between him and the other dogs he was scared out of his mind and now I can't even get him to go out in the back yard since, Koda screams at the top of his lungs and will not stop no matter how long you stay outback with him. Now we've resigned to the front yard to go potty but I live off a busy road and even though we have a leash on I don't want to keep going outfront for his own safty.
Does anyone have any advise Please I'm despreate.
    Thanks

Well welcome and congrats on your new puppy!!!
Iknow it sounds mean, but what your doing is giving in to your puppy's wants and he's in turn training you.

Take him out back and set him down. Don't leave him, but don't pamper him and give him attention. Basically your going to be watching him, but ignoring him all the same. Every time you console him, pick him up, or pay attention to him. Weather it be yelling at him to HUSH or repremending him, your rewarding him. Any attention you give him weather it be good or bad, is a reward to the pup.

SO Take him out and stay out for 5 minutes. THen about 30 minutes later, go back out and stay out there for 8 minutes...then repeat, each time taking longer and longer. But make sure he stops making noise before you bring him in!!!!

He's being a little brat. He knows he can get away with it, and scary as it might be, he has to learn that he's got to go wher YOU want him to go.

He'll learn... It's tough but easier in the long run for him to understand that he is fine and won't die and will HAVE to go even if he doesn't like it so much... Don't let him potty anywhere else and if he doesn't potty in the 5 minutes etc...take him in and crate him and try again and again... He'll learn... He's already learned how to manipulate you into pampering...LOL

Thank you for the sugestions we will try going outback today for the 5 minutes and as suggested we will stay a little longer the next potty time. It will be hard mostly on me but we will do it :)

It is very hard. But you have to keep reminding yourself. Your the boss not him. At this point he's the boss and knows it. So you've got to reverse the situation and regain your roll as alpha. What you say goes and don't waiver from that.

Ditto all of the above advice but especially do not make a big fuss over his apparent fright. Do not try to console him or otherwise lavish any attention when he is acting in an unacceptable manner as this will only reinforce the bad behavior. Act in a clam assertive fashion and even place him on his back and hold him in this submissive position until he stops screaming. He must learn to face his fears rather than you providing alternative solutions.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I agree with not giving him attention. Just pretend he isn't carrying on. Wait for him to stop even for 1 second before you bring him in, but you have to time it right or he will think his screaming got what he wanted.

I would not leave him alone outside, though. Stand with him. That way if he does manage to go potty you are there to praise him. I also don't think any pup should be alone outside.
