Scary collision nose to nose

Had a scare yesterday. After work I was sitting out on the deck playing roof ball with the boys. Everytime I tossed the tennis ball up on the roof Duke would, as usual, run out into the yard to wait for the ball and Freckles, as usual, ran and stood inder the eave. On one toss the ball came down between the two and took a high bounce. Both boys leaped into the air to catch the ball and crashed nose to nose teeth bared. I was sure one of both had cracked a tooth but neither gave any indication they were hurt.
I called Duke over and lifted his lip expecting to find a mess but the only damage was a tiny cut with just a trace of blood. I could not find any damage to Freckles.
From then on Duke decided not to try to leap and catch the ball if Freckles was racing toward him. Smart dog. Duke continues to exhibit logical reasoning that amazes me.

Duke is so smart! Knowing Annie, she would have thought it was a great game and continued to do it.

Smart boy...I'm glad neither of them got hurt. I thought for a second that you were going to say that they got into a fight.

Yeah, that would have started a fight between my girls.

Very smart, my girls are 2 opposites. Ginger ca jump upwards of 4 feet and Aspin can't even get her hind legs off the ground mroe than a few inches, lol.

lol, there was a 4 1/2 foot wall that snickers tried to jump up today, and i was like "wow!" cuz she almost made it, only then ranger had to outshine her, so then, without even a running start (like snickers had) he jumped up the whole wall. lol. they are so funny. if i am playing fetch with them, ranger won't even let snickers bring back the toy, HE has to bring it back!
