And little Razberry was a :m30: ..! soon as i got there the ditz of a receptionist (really didnt like this one she was like duuuh) weighed him. He came in at a 1.1 kilos thats alittle over 2 pounds i think! YAY Razzy!

i then kept him out of the carrier while the vet was late and he was so good, just looked around content to be in my arm all cuddled up against me.

Thent he vet had a look at him and again was very impressed with Raz's tolleration lvl and behavior. The vet is always keenly looking and asking about behavioral problems and such that i guess blind cats develop.

He asked at home if Raz was quiet and didnt do much or what- i had to laugh... Razberry quiet... HAH :m39:

So he was happy to hear he was getting into everything. :|

Raz took his needle without a peep even tho the vet had to push extra hard or something commenting his hide was pretty tough. i winced more then the kitten.

This vet seems so keen on sewing the poor little things eyes shut when he gets fixed. Like it's not up for debate. :-s :0013: :m38:

He said they would have to scoop out what eyes he has then sew the lids together. :-&

i've pretty much decided - that unless he gets some kinda bad infection or something in the time between now and then- theres no way i'm gonna do THAT to my kitten. :m14: [-( i would rather just deal with any little infection that might develop along the way. i'm gonna keep the area around his eyes clear each day and everything.

i'm interested what u guys think about this. Even the vet assistant in me which is trained is somewhat skeptical about sewing his eyes shut totally where he's an indoor cat- and has shown no signs of anything bad. *shrugs*

NE way-- he's happy and healthy now! :) :D (but even at 12weeks is still the size of an 8week old lol ))

okay...i am now just beside myself. the thought just makes me sick....i physically hurt.....for him. is that possible??? i do...its physical. :-& :(

but...i cant watch emergency vets on the animal planet either

i just want to scoop him up and protect him from all harm and all pain....oh it just upsets me to even think about.

have you consulted a specialist? or a teaching vet hospital? like cornell or somewhere that specializes in this???

    :( :-&

give little raz a kiss from me!!! :kiss_heart:

I think your doing the right thing! If Raz isn't having any problems with his eyes (other than them not working obviously) and the worst you can expect is the odd infection I don't see why anyone would want to put him through that!
If he ever got a bad infection then I guess it would be something to consider but so far you've had no problems have you?

If you really don't feel that its necessary I would'nt have it done either. It sounds like it would be pretty painful. I think you're doing the right thing.

 go w/ ur gut.... and it sounds like ur making the right choice...if theres not a need to do it then why? knowing me if he kept saying that u should do it... me and my big mouth would probably end up saying something smart...im kinda bad at that just like i called around today to get an estimate on how much to sedate simba to get his ear cleaned again (ear infection nasty one at that) and this one vet kept teliing me that they cannot give me and estimate same vet i took him to last time... gave me the run around 4 bout 20 min telling me pretty much thats not whats wrong w/ my cat etc... man i kinda let into them... felt kinda bad but..

FMgurl43> lol u sound like me with my irish temper!! i dont blame u at all.

Lynnhaz> i KNOW! *blinks* doesnt it just make your belly turn over even THINKING about it? *winces* does to me too... it's horrible. i cant imagine seeing that done...

*nods* but tank u everyone for your thoughts... i trust u would all be honest with me about what u think in this matter.

It's something very important for to think about- but i'm not letting no one- vet or not- pressure me into doing something like that to my little baby.

dont worry, i will keep u all informed about this issue as things unfold. until then keep eyeballs open for more cute pics and such hehe :y_the_best:

(hugs and kisses have been delivered ;) )
