Should I be worried about Isabelle?

Here is some history real quick. I have had Isabelle about 6-8 months, she is probly around a year old, always ate just dry food, never interested in wet. My boyfriend moved in and brought his two cats, I gave them wet (Fancy Feast) and Isabelle would have a bite or two but thats it. I rescued a kitten Tuesday, had him secluded but isabelle managed to open the door and got in and let all the other cats into the room with the new kitten. The new kitten was dehydrated and covered in fleas before i got him, when i brought him home he didnt have anymore fleas but was still dehydrated and super skiiny. Yesterday morning the new guy threw up, just a small amount, and it was brown, looked like it could have been a small amount of food. Other then that the new guy hasnt thrown up since.I also took the new guy to the vet yesterday and they dewormed him agian.

So yesterday evening Isabelle threw up a very small amount, I didnt think much of it cause other then that she is acting completly normal, running around, meowing, etc..Also I know my dog Winnie throws up once in a while and acts fine after. So lastnight I decided to deworm Isabelle agian. I was bad and never gave her her second deworming pill when i should have,so I gave her a whole pill that the vet gave me and a treat after for being a good girl. 10-15 min. later i went into the bathroom and there was throw up (saliva like) with the pill. But the pill had already melted to the rug. I went to bed a woke up this morning and found throw up on the couch, I know it was Isabelle cause it had the treat i had given her lastnight in it. Well as i was walking around the house this morning I noticed more little piles of throw up. It was all a very small amount, looking like food and or saliva ish. I dont know if those were Isabelle as well. One of the largest piles I found looked like a mix of wet food and dry food, I didnt see isabelle eat wet lastnight so maybe that was the kitten? I'm not sure.

If she is acting normal and doesnt continue to throw up should I still take her to the Vet? I'm gonna call them but they arnt open for another couple hours. Thanks

I don't know what might be wrong (or even if there is something wrong) but I would take a trip to the vet just to be sure. Good luck on solving the mystery :y_the_best:

We had a whole saga of the cats in my house having tapeworm last month.

Long story short - we had to pill our 5 cats.

One of the cats was soooo stressed and upset about the pill. She foamed at the mouth and ran around the house. The next thing I know is I see foamy throw up under the coffee table. She took the pill and apparently threw it up (and then some).

We called the vet wondering if she was ok and if we had to re-pill her.

The vet told us it was not surprising what happened and that she would be fine. (We kept an eye out for tapeworm signs after that and still haven't seen any).

I would call the vet to be safe - but your story sounds similar. Our cat was fine, just stressed. I think (operative word) that it's a fairly common side effect. But, since your cat got the pill back up, I don't know if you have to re-medicate.

    Good luck!

with fostering we have to automatically deworm any incoming foster just in case (shelters don't do fecals as a rule). In many cases the deworming meds can be tummy upsetting. We deworm 10-14 days apart from the first deworming.
One deworming isn't going to do it - and for cats that share a litterbox they should all be done.

My boyfriends kitten just threw up now too, im wondering if they were both throwing up lastnight. I gave them both worming pills. I am worried only cause it was a lot of throw up if you put it all together. I just found some in the bathtub and it was yellowih and thick looking.

I'm also worried cause when i got the new kitten from the pound they dewormed him, but the deworming they use only works on roundworms, and he was here a day before he got the drontel.

What are the signs for tape worms?

After reading these responses though I feel better, hopefully they stop throwing up.

Did she get the de-wormer specific for tapeworms?? Copper threw up frothy white stuff (the pill) after the med for tapeworms. He had to get the shot because he didn't get rid of the tapeworms. A regular de-wormer won't get tapeworms specifically. And if the new guy had fleas, he probably has tapeworms.

How many times did I just type tapeworms? LOL
