 I have a litter of kittens, one began vomiting 2 days ago. At the vet today he said it was possibly a birth defect that shows up after they begin to eat solid food. The only problem is is that they have been eating solid food for 2 weeks and she is not vomiting solid food, it is a milky white foamy type of vomit. The vet did not do any X-rays. He sent me home with an antibiotic and said to take her off of solid food and see if she quits vomiting. The problem is that I don't think he knew what was wrong and I was wondering if anyone had heard of this birth defect or has had a problem like this before

How old are the kittens? I would strongly suggest that you see another vet to get a second opinion. I think thats the best thing to do whenever you feel you're not getting the help you want. You know your kittens best, and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Would love to see some pictures if you have :)

    Good luck :y_the_best:

if you feel this kitten wasn't correctly diagnosed, or treated by your vet, seek another opinion. Vets aren't always right.

    thank you very much

Thank you for your help; I think you are righ that I seek another oppinion. She has not gotten sick since the vet visit but she has been on a liquid diet only. I will start her back on solid food on sunday and hopefully everything will be allright. They are seven weeks old and I love them so much its riduculous. There mother is the best cat I have had since I lost my baby boy in 1999 at 19 years old. I have not had a cat that I love this much since then. She is a six toed cat and very small but I love her even though we call her the little mutant!! I also plan on keeping at least one if not two of her babies. We will have a happy little family since I also have her brother and the daddy in my home.
    Thanks again :)
