Sick Looking Guppy

I was at my hairdressers today and she had isolated a guppy in her tank thinking it was pregnant. When I had a look at it, it looked more like an internal growith hanging down from the fish and if it got any bigger it looked like it would burst. The skin was almost see through and it looked like you could see the fish insides.

Is this a description for a pregnant guppy?

 

It's hard to say, just from your description. There are some guppies that will get a little "see through" when pregnant. There is just no way to tell if it is a growth or pregnant withouth a pic.

 

Hi bluff as Hooben says it is difficult without a photo,but from what you are saying,you described it perfectly as a pregnant guppy, they are very prolific livebearers and are permanently pregnant,you probably won't get to see many of the fry though they will get eaten up although if the tank is well planted whatever, the odd one or two might just make it .....
