Hi everyone, I use to post on this board but i havnt for a while. I'm so upset. This last March I was renting an apartment. I had 2 dogs and 2 cats. I decided to move to a house and found one right down the street. Unfortunatly I had to find new homes for my cats, Bug and Tristan. The reason for finding them new homes was that now that I had a house my family would be coming over all the time, especially my mom, and they are all really alergic to cats. So I decided if I could find them homes with people I knew I would give them away. So I found a wonderful home for Bug with a close friend of mine. I had problems finding Tristan a home, but then I met this guy in my Animal Science class. He was nice and was looking for a campanion for his cat. I figured it would be a good home for her, since he was definitly into animals, and wanted to care for them. So I give Tristan to him, I tell him she gets scared at first and would need time to warm up to him and his cat, I told him she wouldnt be a good outdoor cat and to never let her outside. So he takes her and everytime I go to the class we have together he came in late so I couldnt talk to him or he didnt show up. So for 3 months I don't hear anything about Tristan. He finally calls me 3 months later and tells me he has bad news. He says that he thinks his roomate left the door open and Tristan got out, and he cant find her! I asked him when this happened and he told me she ran away a week after he got her!!!! Now he tells me 3 months later!!! Then he wants to take me out to dinner to thank me for giving her to him, and I couldnt believe his nerve!!!! I was so upset and still am. What can I do now after 3 months of Tristan being lost! I check the pound every day, I check online everyday. I keep hoping I'l find her and if I ever do I will keep her and never loose her agian. Is there any hope in ever finding her? She is micro chipped, luckily, and I'm hoping one day I might get that call that she was found. But she was such a scaredy cat and I dont think she would have let anyone catch her, maybe if she was hungry enough. I'm so scared for her and I hope she didnt get hit by a car or something. I should have never given her away, but I thought she was going to a good responsible home. I'll regret it the rest of my life.

    This is Tristan...

I'm so sorry to hear about Tristan. She is a beautiful cat. You never know where she may turn up.

Did you have her microchipped? It's a good way of easing your mind should something like this happen.

I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how you feel.

How were you to know this would happen? You tried to do the reasonsable thing and find someone trustworthy to take care of your cat. It's too bad it happened like this.

Luckily the cat was microchipped. Maybe somewhere, somehow she'll turn up.

I can't believe that he didn't tell you this after 3 months! I would be pretty upset myself.

I really hope you can find her. I'm sorry I don't have advice.

That is a beautiful picture of her.

all I can say is what a butthead...coward.

Check all the mail carriers in the area where he was. I would also post fliers where you used to live as she might have found here way home

I'm so sorry about Tristan. :( I hope because she is so nice that some good person took her in. I'd think the microchip would definitely come in handy in her situation.

    I'm so sorry.

How far away does this guy live from you? Years ago my sister had a cat that disappeared after she moved from one part of town to the other. This cat actually showed back up after 4 months! She was a bit skinny but otherwise in good health. My sister is convinced she traveled back to their old home then came back.

Maybe check with some local vets to see if they recognize her picture. If someone found her maybe they brought her to a vet. Post fliers there too.

He lives about 15-20 minutes away from me, but I have moved to a house since then. The house i moved to is actually really close to my apartment but i dont think she would ever find me here. She was always indoors too. I hope that happens though, that would be wonderful.

    thanks everyone

Winnie I am so sorry about Tristan. :( I remember when you were posting here about finding both of them homes. That's just terrible. I sure hope Tristan is alive and well and that there is a happy ending to this. I understand how upset you must be right now. Just get some fliers up and keep looking.
