My two year old female cat has just started secreting a white liquid from her anus when we pet her sides. It has an awful smell, almost like dead fish. Does anyone know what this could be? We have a vet appointment on Monday. This has only been happeing for two or three days. She is spayed. Can anyone give me any information?

Hi Kendra. Sorry about your kitty! I did a quick search online and found that it could be blocked anal sacs. You can read this for more information: http://www.dr-dan.com/analsac.htm. It may not be that, but it's all I could find with a quick search. Good luck at your appointment on Monday. Keep us posted with the results!

    Katie Is Fine!! Thank Goodness

I took Katie, my female cat, to the vet today and the vet said the discharge came from her anal sac. An inside cat does not get enough fiber in their diet and therefore the cat's poop is sometimes soft and not as hard or as formed as it should be. If these sacs become filled, it can cause the cat unbearable pain. She checked them and released the excess fluid. Canned pumpkin was her suggestion to feed my cat for my fiber. Other than that, Katie was perfectly healty. Thanks for all your cares and support. Katie and I apprectiate it.
