    Hello everyone!

Tomorow I have an appointment to have my 8 Month old Pit Spayed.

Has anyone had any experience with their Dogs attitude / temperment after they have been fixed. She hasn't started her first heat yet, although she is getting a bit swollen as of late, so I am sure it would come soon if I let it. SHe has been a very good family dog especially with my 3 kids. Anyhow I wanted to get some input on any behavior changes that might come about.

    Secondly, House breaking.

I tried house breaking her for at least the first 6 months of her life, however she never really got the hang of it. I just decided she will be an outside dog. Now that is getting older I would like to start bringing her in more often. Does anyone have any tips / suggestions on House breaking an 8 month old stiborn Pitbull?

i have an appointment to have Avary spayed on the 16th of this month. she is only going on 5 months old. she is pretty much completely house broken. will it calm her down at all though? shes nutty, lol! The vet told me it is $330.00 to have it done and I have to spend that night without my pupper!

My little baby is 6 months old and hasnt used the bathroom in my house in the last few months. I have found that just making the time and effort to potty train is the best method. take her outside several times a day not just 2 or 3 but as much as you can. Give your puppy as little chance as possible to use the bathroom inside. And when your puppy potties outside appraise her and love on her. But make sure she goes. I found my puppy pretending to use it just to please me. Now when you do catch her using it in the house wich will happen a few times chastize her and give her a little swat on the but with a hat or somthing other than your hand. Really the only way to do this is to catch them in the act so they know what they are in trouble for. Rubbing the nose does not work. you will probably just find your dog hiding her messes. So just keep an eye on her at all times and aprais every time she goes outside.
