well boredom took over a week or so back [darn prednisolone keeps me up all night with crazy ideas] and i designed a new cat scratcher. i got some of the materials yesterday and i started on the wood cutting and fabric stapling today [bought a staple gun, i love it!]. it should be finished in a couple of days. it will be a 3 tired 1 metre high scratcher with natural rope around the piping. the shelves are covered in a nice burgundy carpet fabric and it will have a ramp leading from the 2nd tier to the top tier as well as a toy on a rope hanging from the bottom of the top tier. ah! i will post pics when done, thats if it turns out successful

its tough keeping these darn cats happy! :qm2:

Hi Kyles. That sounds like a fun project. :D How are your cats doing on the new food? How is Pepe doing? As for you, have you spoken with your MD about not being able to get proper sleep at night? Perhaps he/she can help you with this. Sleep is so important for all of us.

Yeah Kyles, get sleep help or you'll end up like me. :0010: I'd love to see your cat furniture. It sounds awesome! Are you going to patent it?

hes actually doing well on the new food now. his poos are less green, bulky and smelly. i think his eyes a slightly less crusty too. not much, but at least he doesnt get big clumps. there is not much i can do about the no sleep problem. unfortunately thats a big side effects of steroids. thank god im not on them constantly though, id end up in the looney bin!

Awesome. Let us know how the kitties like it! Luna will only use one scratcher (other than the giant scratchers otherwise known as "the carpet" and "the couch") and it's the flat cardboard type.

I wish I were more of a crafty type person so I could build nifty things for her too. :y_the_best:

Kyles, my 20 month old son just saw your avatar of Pepe and he's laughing uncontrollably. He's saying, ya ha ha ha ha haaaaaa! How long do you have to be on the Prednizone and how's the cat scratcher coming along?

lol! that cheered me up! ive just been on the phone for over an hour to my phone company, talking to people who dont have any idea about the company they are working for! i have to be on prednisolone until my ige levels [these determine allergic reactions in the body] goes back down to normal. so that could be a couple more months? probably more because i have to be weaned off them. the cat scratcher is coming along nicely! ive covered all the shelving. today im going out to get the piping and rope [lots of it too].
