Stinky Duke Gets Examined

Took Duke to the Vet yesterday and after a thorough examine the Vet gave me a prescription shampoo and a supply of antibiotics. After one bath Duke smells better already. Took Freckles along also as I think his odor was originating from his anal glans although he was not "scooting". The Vet expressed the glans and said they were indeed full.
Someone once said the you could learn to do this yourself and save the money. Personally I will pay whatever fee is required to have someone else do that chore. :mrgreen:

 

Poor freckles, you will need to keep an eye on the glands since he is probably predisposed to having them cleaned on a regular basis. I oculd never imagine me doing that either :shock:

So what are the antibiotics for for Duke? did they say what was causing his odor?

I am giving Duke 750mg of cephalexin twice a day. The shampoo is Chlorhexiderm.

 

Well, that's good news! I hope Duke and Freckles feel better real soon. I know HOW to express my dogs glands, but neither will let me. I have to take Zoey back for a recheck after her's abcesses and ruptured.
