I have a cat who is ten years old. She has been living with 2 other adult cats and I just got a baby kitten. My 10 year old refuses to eat or drink now. She wont keep herself clean either. I have taken her to the vet for treatment..and I cannot afford any more treatment. Can anyone advise me on what to do?

    Hi Kerry :)

If you can tell us a little more, it would probably be a lot easier for our forum 'experts' ( )to help you.

What kind of treatment did she get/what was she treated for?
Didn't your vet give you any advice on what you can do to help her?

It also might be a good idea to start a new topic :)

Nern~can you make Kerry's question a separate post?

Kerry~I'm sorry your furbaby isn't eating. Like Bente said....more info please.

Most important...how long has she not been eating or drinking? This is very serious.

How did she take to the kitten when you first introduced?
How soon after did she stop eating and drinking?
Is the kitten up to date on all her shots and vaccinations?
    What sex is the kitten?

This is going to be a "sore spot" topic here. Please don't take offence...but my dear....if you can't afford treatment for your older cat, how will you care for a new kitten?

you could always force feed her - she shouldn't go without eating for any longer than 48 hours cause she can get fatty liver disease
