My kitten is so stupid! She knows how to use the litter box but desides to poop under my dads desk instead. My mom saaid if she does it 1 more time we will have to give her to the aspca. Any suggestions in what I can do?

Oh Kitty. Could she maybe not make it back to her box in time? How old is she? Sometimes they're just so busy playing that they...forget, and then can't get there and have an accident. I had some foster kittens that used it fine for awhile and then just didn't - I had to retrain them and then they were fine. Maybe you could keep her in her room with her litter after she eats and then let her out to play after she's used it, just until she's completely trained?

My little princess is almost 5 months of age and i am sure the bathroom is always available to her. Oh and sorry II said she was stupid I just was very angry at her at that time.

maybe she simply misses....I have one cat, tilly, that routinely pooped outside the litterbox. I got one with a hood (well 2 actually cause we have 2 litterboxes) and she hasn't pooped outside the box since.

Might not be a bad habit at all...might be the litterbox. She could hang her butt over the side.

Do you scoop everytime there's a poop in there? Could be poopies in there she's afraid to step on and just doesn't get herself far enough into the box.

Stupid? Angry? My suggestion is to take a deep breath and remember this is just a kitten....and isn't this the same kitten you posted about a few weeks ago who had "bad diarrhea"? Have you taken her to the vet to rule out any possible medical reasons why she's may be doing this? How many times has she pooped under your fathers desk? Is this the only place she has an accident? How far away is her litter box from that room?

And sorry to keep going here but.....is your mother still planning on having her de-clawed? Does she realize this can lead to more behavioral issues?

I am worried for this kitten.....

KittyTales, the diarhea that wtpooh reminded me of is most likely the situation. Remember that your kitten is a baby, and babies have accidents.

Do us all a favor and try not calling your kitten stupid. Maybe your kitten is being defiant from a lack of attention. It seems to me like your not very patient. A kitten is like a baby. Are you going to call a baby stupid for pooping when it's not wearing a diaper when your the one that forgot to put the diaper on the baby?

I think the most important thing is to make sure that the litterbox always is clean and not smelly.
And if your cat has a diarhea, you should take her to the vet, asap.

When we fed Kyrre with lots of cat treats, his stool got really soft, and it would stick to his fur. And he wiped his ass on the flor :-& Not nice...
But now we only feed him dry kitten food, and we don't have any problems at all.
I think kittens are very sensitive to what they eat.

out of my 3 cats..Romeo is the only one who will purposly go outside his box..but i figured it out that he has to have an immaculate box..cant be any waste or wet spots in it at all...which means changing the box daily...but its better than cleaning up poop..lol...and yeah you have to remember he is still a baby..my romeo is only 6 months..
