If your dog has tear stains, what do you use to get the stains out? My maltepoo has them. I just bought something at Petsmart and have used it 2 times and it doesn't seem like it is making a difference. Thanks!!! :D

There are several tear stain remover products out there to buy, but as far as i know, none of them are going to magically make old tear stains disappear even with several uses. You can try taking your dog to the groomers and asking them to carefully shave off a bit of the stained hair and then everyday keep up with wiping that area clean while the new hair grows back and not let it get too stained in the first place. He may always have some light staining tho.

My 9 month old pekeapoo had some tear staining and I bought all of that "stuff" like the tear stain remover shampoo and the pads. I finally asked my groomer and she trimmed around her face and now everyday before she goes to sleep I wipe her area around the eye and remove any "bugers" that I see and since then she has had no problem with tear stains. Good luck!

Those over the counter products may work for a day, but will never solve the problem. You probably need to change your dogs food. I did and it worked. Just need to find the right food for your dog. We changed from Innova to natural Balance.
