Terrible news about my new adoptee!

my recently adopted kitty.....about 2 weeks ago....got out of my house and I can't find her. When I got home from work last Friday, the screen was pushed out of my 3rd story window and she was gone. I haven't seen her since. She is wearing a collar that has my number on it but no calls! I'm beside myself..and I am afraid she will get run over as I live very close to an interstate. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding her? I'm afraid she'll never come home!

:( Thats sad, one of my cats a few years ago jumped out of the 2nd story window after ripping through the screen, I found his collar down below but no sign of him, luckily my dogs were very bonded to him and after a few hours of serching they found him under a car down the street. (hiding under it, not injured by it)

If you have a picture (I know youve only had her 2 weeks) print out some flyers, put some info on about her, colour, any special markings, age, approx weight, also put on the flyer that she needs medication (no other details of that.... if someone has her and they think she needs meds they may give her back as they wont know what meds or what cost will be....even though there isnt any problem). Get the flyers up all around your area, gas stations, liquor stores, pet stores, grocery stores, schools, parks, if possible a small reward soemtimes helps. Then go and visit all the nearest shelters every couple of days, dont just phone them, with the flyers also, see if any local vets will allow you to put them up, sometimes if a pet has been injured a good samaritan may take it to the nearest vet...or their own if they have one.

    Good luck.

contact every vet in your area as she might have been injured and hopefully a good samaritian might have sought help.
I'd contact businesses in the area too.
Good luck...I hope you find her. Was she chipped?

It doesnt always work but I know a couple of people who have had their dogs returned in the last year or so because that was on the flyers, at least thats what they were told.
Its strange though how that can make the difference between someone making a phone call or not, I think that when people see loose pets they often dont pay much attention to them unless they are causing problems or maybe appear injured but if the pet looks like one seen on a flyer and they think it needs medication for something....Í think it gets the point across that the pet does actually have a home and is cared for...more likely it got out by accident as opposed to just being out on the streets daily. In some areas people are just so used to seeing strays wandering around.

Hope it works for this kitty.

    Update....

Still have not found my poor kitty...but have a feeling someone may have kept her...even though she's collared with a phone number on the tag. I want to post flyers but unfortunately I hadn't taken a picture of her. I keep touring my neighborhood every day...hoping for some sign..but no luck...will update again.

Sorry to hear that. you could still put flyers up though with a description, white paper, black marker...if theres a reward etc, you never know....
